We’ve all learned to love the Frappuccinos and smoothies we purchase at Starbucks and other high end
(high cost) espresso shops. It’s become apparent that we really need to get our frappuccino budget under
control since the whole family is hooked on them now.
We found so many recipes on website along with instructions for making each one. I
never dreamed there could be so many different tastes and flavors to experiment with, all using the same
base powder. My husband, the engineer, figures we’re saving about $3.00 per drink by making our own
That, in itself, should be a good reason to give them a try.
Skip the morning drive-thru line! Our Cinnamon Mocha
Frappuccino is exactly what you need to start your day with a
kick.
Ingredients
2 fluid ounces espresso coffee
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups ice cubes
whipped cream, for garnish
Directions
1. In a small bowl, stir together the coffee, dark chocolate, sugar and cinnamon until chocolate has melted.
2. In a blender, blend together the coffee chocolate mixture, milk and ice for 30-45 seconds.
3. Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream, if desired.
Notes
You may substitute 3/4 cup double strength brewed coffee for the espresso.
I used Vietnamese Cinnamon, which is a stronger flavor. Use the cinnamon you love best.
A drizzle of chocolate sauce or a sprinkle of cinnamon would be tasty too!
